23rd February, Penmaenmawr

Having dropped Anne ar Beaumaris for her quilting course I decided, since the weather was quite good with some sunny spells, to drive round to the east side of llandudno Junction to get a shot of the stone train. In the event it became apparent that I was running out of time, so I stopped in the lay-by opposite the Little Chef.

I got the camera out just in time to shoot the 'Voyager' on the 09.50 Holyhead to Euston as it went past.

A quick trot to my preferred spot just in time to catch 66 516 on the stone, by this time the weather had deteriorated and sleet was coming down

as 66516 headed east.

I was on the point of getting back into the car when 158 819 passed as the 09.27 Crewe to Holyhead.

Into the car and driving east to the next exit I was passed by a 155 heading for Bangor. I presume it was 320, in the path of the morning train from Birmingham New Street. Presumably this had been delayed and the 155 was filling in from Llandudno Junction.

I made it back in time to see the 155, on its way back to the junction, erupt (perhaps erupt isn't quite the right word) from Llandegai tunnel, where recent tree felling has opened up the viewpoint. How long it will be before the undergrowth takes over again is a matter of conjecture.
