13th December was the start of the new winter timetable. Arriva were expected to be hiring in a class 47 plus 4 mkIIs to run the 10.03 Manchester Piccadilly to Holyhead and return. I went to Bangor station to see what appeared. The weather was very dark and gloomy
158 822 leaves for Holyhead as the 09.27 from Crewe
175 001 arrived fro Llandudno Junction and ran into the tunnel to reverse.
175 001 is ready to leave as the 12.06 to Birmingham New Street
158 822 followed 175 001 into the platform on it's return trip to Crewe as the11.44 ex Holyhead. On the other platform 175 115 appears on the 10.03 from Manchester Piccadilly instead of the expected '47'
175 115 heads away into the tunnel.
The 09.00 from Euston was formed by 'Voyager' set 221 136 Yuri Gagarin and is seen here at the platform

and running into the tunnel.
