As it was getting close to the end of the summer timetable and some changes
were imminent I thought I'd nip across the Island and see what was about.
To start with I positioned myself on a little bridge on the outskirts of
Rhosneigr. This is quite a good spot for eastbound trains but not so good
for trains heading for Holyhead, particularly if the sun is shining.
First up was 175109 on the 12.48 to Crewe
The 08-40 Virgin service from Euston appeared running about 10 down behind
47816, fortunately, for once, the sun stayed behind the cloud.
And even more fortunately peeped out as 47816 made the return journey
at the head of the 13.35 to Crewe.
175113 as the 13,35 Holyhead to Manchester Piccadilly approaches Ty Croes
Two class 20s approach Ty Croes signalbox with two flasks fromValley to
Crewe
