Awayday to Paignton

9th October 1976

We booked an awaday excursion from Manchester Piccadilly to Paignton. We left Manchester in the rain at 07.40. Changed engines at Birmingham when 46013, with driver Maurice Newman, of Cannock, in charge, took over for the run to Penzance and back. Weather all day was pretty dreadful.
